The Green Schools grant program has more money for schools this year. Any school in Lane County can apply for this grant to fund the purchase of equipment or services that will increase recycling or waste reduction at your school. One school purchased Zero Waste Lunch kits for students, another used the funds to pay field trip transportation, many purchased bins and compost supplies. Recipient schools must be, or apply to be, an Oregon Green School by the end of school year 2005. It's easy, I'll help. Check out <http://www.oregongreenschools.org> and start thinking about what you'd like to ask $$ for. Applications will be available in late Sept. (I will send a link when available) and due by November 19th.

Recycle Textbooks: St. Vincent de Paul will accept any and all books: hardbound, soft bound, computer manuals, outdated text books, but NOT wet or moldy books. Books can be dropped at any SVdP collection site.

Recycle old computers. VCRs, DVDs, phone systems and other electronics can now be recycled through a Lane County program. Call 682-3111 for information.

Kick off your recycling program right with a visit from BRING's educator. Check out our Education Page for great teacher resources and student research links.
