Re:ART an Earth Day Celebration
A group exhibition in celebration of Earth Day
Re:ART an Earth Day Celebration will feature work by 26 local, regional and national artists. The exhibition opens on Saturday April 19th and will run through May 29th. The public is invited to attend a reception on April 19th from 2 pm until 4 pm. BRING Gallery is located at 4446 Franklin Boulevard in Glenwood.
The art selected for this exhibit represents a broad range of expression, yet has one thing in common: the reuse (or repurposing) of unwanted materials. This show combines the artistic energy and interest surrounding BRING Gallery and its focus on creative reuse since its conception in June 2007. The work ranges from Sarah Nicole Philips' delicate collages made from the patterned inside of security envelopes to works such as Ryan Beard's impressively large sculpture made from scrap metal ends left over from his gate fabrication business. Some of the work carries an overt messages critically engaged with eco-conscious concepts while others display the artist's sense of whimsy and joy.
The artists included in this exhibition are Ryan Beard, Tim Boyden, Tony Brown, David Canfield, Alejandra Chaverri, Lynda Christiansen, Linda Corcoran, Krislyn Dillard, Tyler C. Dones, Diane English, Kara Young Finger, Dave Hanoch, Will Hembree, Matt Jones, Nata Lukas, Michael Marshall, Catlin O'Shea, Sarah Nicole Phillips, Carol Plaia, Anthony Santella, Elisabeth Setten, Katie Simpson, Carol Smith, Lauren Suveges, Jud Turner, Wally Warren and DJ Whelan.
