Donating materials to BRING

BRING accepts a wide variety of reusable and surplus building materials, garden supplies and related items. Proceeds from the sale of your donated goods support our mission to provide conservation opportunities, education and inspiration throughout our community. Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Fall - Winter Materials Donation Hours (November through February)

Monday, Wednesday - Saturday, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Sunday, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

No Donations on Tuesdays

What we can take

What we can takeMaterials must be in good, reusable condition. All donations subject to staff discretion. Restrictions may apply to some items. Here's a sampling of what we take.

What we can't take

What we can't take

If we can't accept your item, we can help you find the right place to take it. If in doubt, bring it down - we'll look it over.  We are only a few minutes from the Glenwood transfer site, where many materials may be recycled or donated to another agency. Click here for our guide to Reuse and Recycling in Lane County. Among the things we cannot take:
  • Air filters
  • Appliances Antique appliances at staff discretion
  • Asbestos containing materials (drop ceiling tiles, floor tiles)
  • Automotive supplies
  • Baseboard heaters
  • Batteries
  • Blinds
  • Chemically treated wood (i.e. creosote coated timbers)
  • Chemicals or hazardous materials of any kind
  • Drywall/Sheetrock (exception: full 4x8 sheets)
  • Electronics
  • Florescent fixtures and bulbs
  • Garage doors
  • Household goods (clothes, dishes, most furniture, etc.)
  • Jetted tubs and Jacuzzis
  • Medical equipment
  • Metal framed glass (windows and sliding glass doors)
  • Oil tanks
  • Paint, stains (except unopened, new)
  • Particle board
  • Particle board furniture
  • Pool and pond filters, pumps
  • Scrap lumber or plywood (lumber 4' or better OK, half sheets plywood OK, specialty woods like oak, cherry, etc. OK)
  • Shower doors
  • Smoke detectors
  • Sports equipment (ski boots, exercise bikes, treadmills etc)
  • Thermostats containing mercury
  • Toilets higher than 1.6 GPF
  • Unframed glass (loose window panes, etc.) except stained glass, art glass, mirror glass less than 4'x4', or mirrored closet doors
