Detour Ahead

Detour Ahead

Yes!  We’re open for business!

Over the next twelve to eighteen months (through Fall 2018), the City of Springfield will be constructing two new roundabouts to create a safer and more efficient Franklin Blvd. The project, once completed, will feature two lanes in each direction, bicycle lanes, wider sidewalks, and landscaping and storm water filtering bioswales.

For several months, beginning in mid-May 2017, South Franklin Blvd. (aka McVay Highway) is being detoured from east and west bound Franklin to Henderson Street and 19th. BRING is accessible as usual when traveling north on McVay.

Despite the closure and the inconvenience, BRING will be open and hope that our valued customers will still make the trip.

Submit your reuse creation

Re-New Gallery

As usual, we were amazed by the high quality and the creativity of the entries our customers sent in for our third Re-New Gallery contest. Thankfully, we didn’t have to pick a winner all by ourselves. Our Facebook fans were excited by the opportunity to vote for their favorite submission from the four finalists we posted online. The crowd favored this functional and esthetically pleasing bench, created by Kathi Davis after a trip to BRING. Davis says she was inspired by a cabinet BRING staffers built from used desk and dresser drawers.

Keep sending in your submissions. And thanks to everyone who entered.

How to enter: Send us a photo of your reuse creation—something you built, repurposed, or up-cycled from BRING materials (or any used goods). We’ll send you a coupon good for 50% off your next used item, just for entering. (One coupon per person per quarter, but send as many entries as you like.)

If your photo is selected and published in the UsedNews, you’ll win a $100 gift certificate from BRING.

Include a brief description of your item—what it’s made of, what it’s used for, how you went about making it. Email your photo to info@bringrecycling.org, along with your full name, address, phone, and description.

Something for Nothing!

Here are three easy ways to support BRING that cost you nothing.

• Shop at Market of Choice?  Sign up for E-Scrip at escrip.com, designate BRING as your non-profit of choice, then securely register the debit or credit cards you commonly use for groceries (skipping steps 3 and 5).  Market of Choice will donate a percent of every purchase to BRING.

• Shop at Fred Meyer?  Link your Fred Meyer Rewards Card to BRING at fredmeyer.com/communityrewards.com.  Search for us by “BRING” or by our number, 80534.  Then use your Rewards Card when you shop.  Freddies will donate a percent of every purchase to BRING.  Rewards cards are available at the Customer Service desk at all Fred Meyer stores.

• Buy gas at Sequential?  Ask them to donate a percent to BRING every time you fill your tank or tummy—they have a great deli and coffee bar, too.
