4. Mature Garden Oasis

4. Mature Garden Oasis

2365 Madison Street

This mature garden resides near the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, tucked away from the hustle of nearby busy streets. Creative repurposing, do-it-yourself remodels, and artful, thrifty "finds" make for something interesting to look at around every twist and turn. Salvaged redwood from a pre-exisitng deck space has been reimagined into large greenhouses sheltering tables of succulents. Out of the botanical oasis emerge three low-maintenance worm bins which process organic food waste and provide a healthy soil amendment to grow the site's ornamentals and seasonal agriculture.

Highlights:

  • Mature garden with urban agriculture
  • Two greenhouses, one build from salvaged redwood deck
  • Three 100-gal. vermicompost worm bins
  • Reuse decor
  • Refurbished garden furniture

*Please do not visit the sites before 10 a.m. on Sunday.
