It is illegal to throw away household appliances as garbage under Oregon law.

Air conditioners ($/ALL): St. Vincent de Paul appliance department.

CDs, DVDs, and cases (GLENWOOD): NextStep Recycling.

Cell phones and PDAs (GLENWOOD): NextStep Recycling; Lane County Electronic Recycling; drop boxes at REI, UO Bookstore, ASUO office, UO Telecom office, and Kennedy Middle School.

Christmas lights: NextStep Recycling.

Computers and peripherals (GLENWOOD): NextStep Recycling; Lane County Electronic Recycling.

Dishwashers, clothes washers and dryers (ALL): Schnitzer Steel; St. Vincent de Paul appliance department.

Hot water heaters (ALL): Recycle as scrap metal at Lane County transfer sites. Schnitzer Steel.
