What we can take


What we can take Materials must be in good, reusable condition, except for fee-based items, which are accepted for recycling. Restrictions may apply to some items. Here's a sampling of what we take.

Materials must be in good, reusable condition, except for fee-based items (*), which are accepted for recycling. All items are subject to staff discretion. Some restrictions may apply. Here's a sampling of what we take:
Aluminum siding
 
Bathroom cabinets
Bookcases - no particle board
 
Cabinets
Canning jars
Cedar shakes
Cabinet doors
Carpet - like new, clean only. Minimum size
8' x 8' or suitable for runner. No scrap, no carpet with pet odors, stains, or tread wear
Compost bins

Doors - interior/exterior. Cannot accept doors with bowing or need for major repair. Solid core commercial doors accepted at staff discretion.
*Sliding glass doors - $2 fee
*Shower doors - $2 fee
Door handles and hardware

Electrical boxes
Electric fixtures
Electric motors, working or not

Fiberglass patio roofing
Flooring
Flower pots

Garage doors
Garden tools and furniture
Galvanized siding

Kitchen cabinets - Cabinets should be free of damage beyond simple repair. Missing doors or drawers accepted at staff discretion. Particle board cabinets at staff discretion. Must be in very good condition to consider.
 
Light fixtures
Industrial lighting
Lumber - 6' or better. No dry rot, splits, peeling paint or pest infestations.
 
Mirrors (unframed mirror glass must be less than
4' x 4')
 
Paint - unopened latex only
Paneling
Patio furniture
Piping - metal and PVC
Plumbing and accessories
Plywood - half and full sheets only
Push mowers - non-motorized
 
Riding lawn mowers - no hand mowers unless almost new and running
Roofing materials

Scrap metal, including iron, steel, aluminum, copper, brass, and stainless steel
Screens
Screen doors
Shelving - no particle board
*Sinks - $1 fee for porcelain sinks
Sky lights
Solar panels
Shower stalls
*Shower doors $2 ea
 
Tile
Toilets - low-flow (1.6 gallons or less) in working condition, clean and free of cracks or chips (except hairline cracks in vintage porcelain). Some vintage, unique colors, or commercial toilets accepted. When in doubt, stop by BRING on your way to the dump (Glenwood Central Receiving Station), where toilets are accepted for a fee.
Tools
Tubs - no tubs with chips, peeling paint, deep scratches or stains (exception, claw foot tubs) Utility sinks
Unusual antiques
Windows
Picture windows - max size 32 sq. ft. (>32 sq. ft. at staff discretion only)
Thermal pane vinyl, wood and metal
