Wanted: Volunteer Graphic Artist for BRING’s Newsletter
BRING is looking for a graphic artist to format the UsedNews, our most important outreach piece. The UsedNews is a free, 8-page tabloid newsletter that comes out in January, April, July and October. More than 10,000 copies are printed each issue and distributed to a mailing list of nearly 6,000 and to drop sites all over Lane County. It is also published on our web site.
The designer works with BRING’s newsletter editor and produces the final lay-out, with one or two rounds of proofing, generally over a month’s time. BRING does all proofing in-house, and the designer makes the corrections.
The UsedNews designer also produces a PDF version of each newsletter and provides it to the Webmaster for posting on the BRING Web site.
The newsletter was recently re-designed, so we have a lovely new format and templates for most pages. We need someone to flow in new text, format photos and graphics, and make it look zippy.
The ideal volunteer is someone with ample experience who would enjoy doing this as their way to help promote a healthy environment, and who’d be willing to consider a year-long commitment. The volunteer is credited in each issue.
Previous volunteers allowed 20-40 hours per issue. The next issue would be in production beginning June 1, for a July 1 print date.
